The 2012 CTR Annual Trophoblast Meeting is aimed at basic scientists and academic clinicians with an interest in pregnancy research, and takes place over one and a half days: 9th and 10th July, at the Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Cambridge.

Timetable and presentations

The event takes place over one and a half days and features...

Monday 9th July: an afternoon of 15-minute presentations featuring new data selected from delegate submissions. If you would like to present new data to the meeting, please select the appropriate option when booking. Then email your title and abstract to the Centre’s Administratoramc210@cam.ac.uk to arrive no later than Friday 1st June.

Tuesday 10th July: a themed day focused on hypoxia: sensing and consequences, featuring experts in the fields of molecular physiology and pathology, genetics, and reproductive biology.

There will be a formal dinner on the evening of Monday 9th July at Magdalene College. Numbers are strictly limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.

CTR members:
Registration is free for CTR members
Dinner at Magdalene College costs £20 (rising to £30 on bookings made after 4th June).

CTR Members please note: If you do not wish to attend the dinner, you are still required to register and book. You will be issued with a booking confirmation but you will not be charged. Click here to book your place.

Non-members:
£75 Early Bird Registration Fee (applies up to 4th June.) After 4th June, the cost is £150.

Poster Session

There is provision for delegates to bring a poster for display, which you are very welcome to do. If you wish to bring a poster, please contactamc210@cam.ac.uk to enable us to assess how much space to allocate.

The Centre for Mathematical Sciences is located on Wilberforce Road, off Madingley Road. The Centre can also be reached from Clarkson Road, off Grange Road (not for cars).

The venue is a 15-20 minute walk from the City centre. Please allow sufficient travelling time.

Parking on site is extremely limited so we do not recommend bringing your car. Instead please travel by public transport, walk or use pedal power. Cycle parking is provided in designated areas in the Centre’s carpark.

Travel information

By train and bus
There are frequent services to Cambridge from King's Cross and Liverpool Street stations in London.
The site is approximately three miles from the railway station. If you take a taxi from the station ask to be dropped at Clarkson Road. The fare should be in the region of £7.50.

Details of the bus service (Citi 4 and Uni 4) linking the University sites on the west of Cambridge to the city centre and Addenbrooke's can be found at http://www.admin.cam.ac.uk/offices/embs/travel/bus/

The Park and Ride Red bus (77) from Madingley Road stops near the Centre for Mathematical Sciences.

Stagecoach operate the U4 (University bus) and the C4 which both serve the Centre for Mathematics site, stopping on both Madingley Road and Grange Road.

National Express provides coach services to Cambridge from Central London, and from many UK airports:http://www.nationalexpress.com/home.aspx

By car
Parking on site is extremely limited so we do not recommend bringing your car. Motorists should use the Park & Ride carpark at Madingley Road, which is one mile away, just off the M11 at Junction 13. http://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/transport/around/parkandride/madingleyroad/

The Park and Ride Red bus (77) stops near the Centre for Mathematical Sciences.

Accessibility

There are disabled parking spaces at the Centre for Mathematical Sciences (accessed through the entrance on Wilberforce Road). Please book your space via the CTR Administrator, amc210@cam.ac.uk

The presentations will be held in the Wolfson Room, which is one floor below reception. Disabled toilets are also on this floor. The lift to the Wolfson Room is accessed via Pavilion G. Please see a member of the Centre’s staff who will be happy to direct you.

Dinner at Magdalene College

A formal dinner will take place on the evening of Monday 9th at Magdalene College Hall, commencing at 7pm. A cash bar will be available for diners only from 5.30pm. Numbers are strictly limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
